Data Analytics Overview
The program report on the Nitro Studio home page provides an at-a-glance look at your program metrics. Use this information, along with Quick Insights and Data Export to help identify, optimize, and communicate program results. With analytics you can:
- Gain a high-level understanding of program performance.
- Maintain an extensible and flexible program that evolves with your business.
- Leverage user-level data for targeted optimization planning and audience research.
- Develop a data-driven engagement strategy with meaningful reward structures.
- Understand granular, user level details to drive larger program changes.
The dashboard metrics report on the Welcome page shows an at-a-glance look at your program's active users, actions logged, and missions completed. If your report currently shows "in the red", ask yourself if any of these situations apply:
- Has your program seen a large change in users? If so, these new users may not be aware of all program options. Consider an email or marketing campaign to inform them of all your program has to offer.
- Has your program recently expanded its offerings? Make sure your users are educated about any changes in your program.
- Does your program have a small number of users? Programs that are relatively small (approximately 200 users) can experience large swings with the absence of only a few users.
- Are there seasonal factors at work? Fewer users in general may participate over holidays and parents may be less likely to participate during school vacation times.
- Are there company-specific factors at work? Company trainings, seminars, or other planned absences can have negative effects on participation.
- Is your program too static? It's common for long running programs to experience some drop-off if there are no new offerings. Consider adding missions to reengage users.
Methodology
Nitro metrics feature a three pronged approach:
- Adoption - Understand who/ when/ how your users are interacting with the program. Reports that help you track adoption are User Composition and Active Users.
- Continuous Engagement - Understand your users' growth as they progress from program introduction to mastery. Reports that help you track engagement are Average Actions Completed Per User and Actions Trending.
- Strategic Behavior - Analyze metrics that demonstrate how gamification is driving your users toward performing high value activities. Reports that help you track behavior are Missions Completed, Level Distribution, and Points Trending.
