Badges
Badges/trophies are a visual reward for achievement. They should help illustrate a user’s journey within your program.
Badges are awarded when users complete a mission or level up.
When selecting badges, consider the following:
- What visually resonates with my audience? What are the users' interests and what do they aspire toward?
- What visual lexicon is relevant to your brand and/or your content?
- Will an image work with the long term program goals? As badges are collected, they become artifacts of achievement. You don't want to replace a badge with a new image later on.
- Should I have badges that are only available for a specific time limit? This can motivate users to achieve a reward before it becomes unavailable.
