REST APIs

The following API changes are documented on https://api.bunchball.com/docs.

GET /users/{userId}/challenges - Updated to include the ranked parameter. When true, missions are returned in ranked order (using the mission recommendation engine).
GET /users/{userId}/award-balance - Updated to return the ID, name, short name, and icon URL for the point category associated with the award account.

Rate Limiting

Early in May, we upgraded Nitro's rate limiting capabilities. This enhancement is part of our commitment to continuously improve the performance and reliability of our services. If you encounter any unexpected issues in the future or have any concerns, please contact Bunchball Support.

Upcoming Product Updates

Leaderboard Maximum Return Count

In our June release, we will update the maximum return count for leaderboards to 100. This new limit ensures leaderboards are performant and motivating for users. If your program requires showing more than 100 users in a leaderboard, please contact Bunchball Support prior to June 17th.

Nitro Impact

Something new and exciting is coming to Nitro! We're close to the beta launch of our new Impact block.

Impact is a full featured drop-in gamification solution that's easily embeddable on a page within an existing site. It's built for the individual gamification user showing missions (using our AI driven mission recommendation engine), program progress, leaderboards, quizzes, award account, and On The Spot card redemptions.

Upcoming API Deprecation

Effective with the August 2024 release, we will deprecate and remove the following parameter from the platform. Update any code that uses this parameter in advance of the August release.

GET /users/{userId}/challenges - We will deprecate the value parameter in the rewards section of the response. Update any code that references the value parameter to use the pointAward parameter.
